Our musical director is Simon Mansfield, Simon was born and raised in Essex.
Simon studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and was awarded a Graduate Diploma. Simon continued his studies at the then Manchester Polytechnic gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and later returned to studying at York University on a part time basis for a M.A. in Applied Educational Research.

Simon is Head of Brass for Rotherham M.B.C. having previously held various posts within Kirklees Music School.

As a professional musician Simon has had wide experience performing with, amongst others, the Halle Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Welsh National Opera and Northern Ballet Orchestras, as well as the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, and Gabrieli Players. Simon has also been a member of the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band and Fodens Brass Band, as well as a guest player with Fairey, Grimethorpe, and Desford Brass Bands. At present Simon performs regularly with ViVa, formerly The East of England Orchestra
