Year

2007 A win at Mrs. Sunderland

January - The band played a superb performance, in fact Gledholt Choir were so impressed that they’ve invited us to join them in their Annual Gala Concert in May.

February - SYB came first in their class and took home the silver cup

March - SYB received positive comments from the adjudicator and the audience at the auditions but, sadly, we didn't make it through to Birmingham this year.

May - A Magic social evening was held with local a Magician, Philip Horn, who was brilliant. Loads of pizza consumed from Maxis in Denby Dale. Altogether a wonderful evening.

May - SYB played beautifully in a joint concert with Gledholt Male Voice Choir, who commented "Thanks for everything last Saturday.  We thoroughly enjoyed your programme-especially the snakes and the monkeys!  Please pass on our best wishes to your young players - they are a talented band.
Best wishes
John Taylor
Secretary, Gledholt Male Voice Choir
"

July - SYB had Kirklees Music Centre Junior Windband as guests at the summer concert which went really well and SYB even gained some new players.

July - This months heavy rainfall took its toll on some of the gala events. At Thurstonland the cricket field was waterlogged so the band played on a bit of hard ground at the back of the pavillion after marching through the village. Shelly gala had to be squashed into a very steamy village hall.

August - The annual barbeque was once again held at Sheila & Robin Heys farm

September - The trip to Ingleborough Hall was a great success, despite a mess up by the coach company which meant we had to find another company on the saturday morning. Fortunately Ron Lyle & Son from Batley stepped in and saved the day.

September - After many years of association between SYB and Shepley Band the two finally got together for a joint concert in St Paul's Church, Shepley. The event was a great success & even raised funds for the Oesophageal & Pancreatic Cancer charity, thanks to Sheila & Robin Hey for the challange to raise the funds.

October - Another social evening, bowling at Wakefield Superbowl, went down well with the band members.

November - Honley Remembrance Day Parade was once again led to the Cenotaph by SYB

December - Christmas started with the annual concert in Holmfirth and as usual December was filled with busking and local carol concerts.
