1990 - A NEW MUSICAL DIRECTOR
After the summer concert in St. Paul's, Bill Bray is to step down having been in charge for 2 years - the search begins for a suitable replacement!
Talking of summer concerts - Ron Massey gives the compere a special mention 'what an entertaining compere'. It was, of course none other than the infamous Steven Downs, who continued as compere for many years!
M.D. Appointed - The news is that Nigel Home has been appointed Musical Director of SYB.
October - Band take 2nd place at Slaithwaite in Youth In Brass. Kirsty Downs is awarded the Soloist Prize.
November - Boarshurst, the Band were in action again. The adjudicator writes "An enjoyable albeit difficult programme. Well done soloists and also well done compere who fronted the performance with extreme professionalism - (very funny)! Well Done!" The soloists were: Gavin Wright, Jeremy Raby and Robbie Cowen
