1989 - WE'RE ON OUR WAY TO WEMBLEY

19 February - SYB were placed 3rd and made it through to the finals of National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, to be held at Wembley Conference Centre in October. One journalist wrote 'Scissett have been plugging away in the Yorkshire event for many years, and there was real pleasure to be seen when the band had gained a place in this year's final'.

8 October - and it's Wembley here we come! Band performs at the Wembley Centre in the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain. Not placed but the experience was surely fantastic!

I5 October - SYB win Youth In Brass at Slaithwaite - again!
