Scissett Band Playing Away - declares one headline!

The band spend months preparing for their first overseas tour.

Tuesday 21 April - SYB arrive in Holland and travel from Rotterdam to Valkenburg. The following day .it's off to Monschau, then a concert in Valkenburg. On Thursday they take the sightseeing route on way to Bad Neuenahr for a concert. Friday brings a performance in Maastricht and on Saturday it's back to Rotterdam to catch the ferry home.

Remember the camel in 1985? Well, it would seem he reappears in Holland and this time he has a friend with him!

October 18 - Youth In Brass, and guess who win? Yes, SYB come out on top yet again, with Anthony Wood taking the best soloist prize for his cornet solo 'Nightingale'.

November - Steven Childs was named best individual performer of the evening at Boarshurst Entertainment competition. The band finished runners up to Oldham Music Centre.
