1986 - PAT TAKES A BREAK

23 March - Band gets 2nd prize in the Youth Entertainment Section of the WYMCC Brass Band Festival. In May the Band perform as guests of Holme Valley Choir at the choir's 10th Anniversary concert in St. Paul's.

6th July - Pat France conducts the band at the annual summer concert, before taking a break for a few months to continue her studies.

In Pat's absence Peter Godfrey of Rastrick takes up the baton. In their first contest with Peter in charge - Youth In Brass - the band are awarded 1st prize, Best Deportment and Best Leader.

7 October - Huddersfield Town take on Arsenal in Littlewoods Cup 2nd Round, 2nd Leg and SYB entertain the crowds at Leeds Road!!
